The refrigerator is a little expert in fresh-keeping, and every household can't do without it. Putting food in the refrigerator can keep it longer, especially in summer. Put fresh fruits and vegetables in the refrigerator for two or three days.
So, can all the purchased food be put in the refrigerator? Can the food be stored for a long time without deteriorating if put in the refrigerator?
Different foods have different storage methods
The invention and popularization of refrigerators have brought great convenience to people's food preservation and storage and avoiding pollution. However, if used improperly, it is easy to cause food to taste bad and even cause food poisoning. In the process of using the refrigerator, we should choose different categories to determine whether different foods can be stored in the refrigerator, whether they should be refrigerated or frozen.
The refrigeration temperature of a common refrigerator is 4℃-8℃, which is subject to the effect of frost-free food and preservation; the freezing temperature is -23℃—-12℃, which is generally used for quick-frozen food.
For animal foods, which have high protein content and are easy to spoilage, special attention should be paid to low-temperature storage. For example, meat is cut into small pieces and bagged separately and placed in the refrigerator freezer. Take out one bag when eating.
For fresh vegetables, improper storage is prone to produce nitrite. In principle, they should be eaten on the day they are bought and not put in the refrigerator. It really needs to be placed in the refrigerator and can only be refrigerated for no more than 3 days. Cooked leafy vegetables should be eaten as soon as possible. In principle, do not store them in the refrigerator.
In addition, the shelf life of different foods in the refrigerator is also different. Relatively speaking, staple foods generally do not exceed four days, such as steamed buns, noodles, etc.; fruits are generally within a week; fish can be refrigerated for one to two days, and meat can be stored for half a year if frozen; eggs can be placed in cold storage for one or two Months; dairy products can generally be stored for a week.
These foods are not suitable for refrigeration
Although the refrigerator is good, it is not suitable for all foods. Avoid refrigeration in the following categories:
tropical fruit. The reason why tropical and subtropical fruits are afraid of low temperature is related to their growing area and climate. Generally speaking, tropical fruits are less resistant to low temperatures than fruits grown in colder climates and in autumn, such as bananas, lychees, dragon fruits, mangoes, etc., which are prone to "frostbite" in cold storage.
cucumber. When placed in the refrigerator for more than three days, the skin will show a water-soaked appearance and lose its original flavor.
Part of pasta. Some pasta, such as steamed buns, bread, etc. placed in the refrigerator for too long, will gradually harden or become "stale", affecting the taste and flavor.
The correct "posture" for storing food in the refrigerator
There should be gaps between foods. The food in the refrigerator should not be too full or too tight, and some gaps should be properly left in the middle, which is conducive to air circulation, and the convection of cold air inside the refrigerator can well reduce its load pressure, so as to extend the service life of the refrigerator Purpose, while also reducing the energy consumption of the refrigerator.
Store raw and cooked food separately. Raw food and cooked food should be stored separately and try not to mix them together, so that the food is clean and hygienic. We should make reasonable use of the space inside the refrigerator according to the storage time and temperature requirements of the food, try to put cooked food on top and raw food on bottom.
Keep food cool before putting it in the refrigerator. When the food is still very hot, put it directly into the refrigerator, it is easy to make the external temperature of the food very low and the internal temperature is very high, the food is easy to deteriorate, and the food preservation effect is reduced.
Regular inspection, cleaning and cleaning. Check the refrigerator regularly and remove signs of spoilage and spoilage immediately to avoid affecting other foods. At the same time, it is also necessary to clean the refrigerator regularly, scrub the inner wall and all corners of the refrigerator, to ensure that the inside of the refrigerator is clean and hygienic.
